Samsung Galaxy S i9000 launching in Asia in June. Android 2.2 Froyo promised for later

The Samsung Galaxy S i9000, its gorgeous 4 inch Super AMOLED display, will officially launched Asia June – at same time when handset will hit Europe (with Vodafone being one carriers offer it).

In Singapore, an unlocked Galaxy S will cost 1,089 SGD (about $774), so the smartphone's price other Asian countries will likely similar.

The Galaxy S i9000 Samsung's first Android handset come Super AMOLED display. It will run Android 2.1 at launch, Cnet Asia has it that Samsung confirmed the device will be updated Android 2.2 Froyo sometime later this year.

The Samsung Galaxy S will almost certainly available US, too, where T-Mobile should launch it as Samsung T959 (not sure when exactly this will happen, though).
