While Motorola Droid X has been confirmed yesterday Verizon, there's still no official word the Droid 2 (A955), which will true successor first Motorola Droid.
Even so, it looks like the Motorola Droid 2 was showcased by Verizon during tech show held at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Gizmodo received some photos of the Droid 2, together with new details.
Reportedly, new Droid has same size as original one. Its QWERTY keyboard wider, though, it's "easier to type on."
At this time, Motorola Droid 2 runs Android 2.1 with "Ninjablur" (like Droid X). However, Verizon rep said that smartphone would "probably" have plain Android 2.2 Froyo at launch. Or, in case it's launched with Android 2.1, an update will released shortly after.
It seems that Droid 2 has a 1GHz processor, and 8GB internal memory. The handset could released "in next few weeks." – hence we might see it as same time Droid X.
