Samsung M240 Cell Phone Review–A Bit Too Simple

Mobilewhack.com

Samsung-M240-SprintSamsung cell phones are really starting to grow on me.  I’ve seen several terrific models come out of their development facilities, and not very many bad ones.  Today, however, is the exception that proves the rule with the Samsung M240, a cell phone that might be just a bit too simple.

The Samsung 𒶸 is a folder type cell phone with voice recorder, conference call, speakerphone, mobile web, alarm clock, calculator, a five hundred contact phone book, memo pad, Java capability with three game demos, two different display languages, and a battery that yield six and a half hours of talk time on a single charge.

You can see what my major problem was with this one.  Sure, it’s a good cell phone, no mistake, at least what there is of it.  The problem is that there’s just not that much here to talk about.  It’s just a little TOO simple, really.  It’s a great phone for people who don’t want much in a phone–there’s no camera, no Bluetooth, not even mobile email.  Sure there’s Java and mobile web, and this helps, but there’s still a whole lot missing.

While the phone feels sufficiently substantial–no tiny phone you’ll feel will break instantly–there’s just so little to it that it’s almost not worth bothering with.  Get the Samsung M240 if you need–or just want–a simple, easy to use phone, but if you want features, look elsewhere.

The Good

Incredibly easy to use

Good design

Java compatibility

The Bad

Countless missing features

Score 6 / 10
